GirlWorld is dedicated to helping girls in underserved communities gain peer mentor training, global exposure. Our goal is to build a leadership network that utilizes a unique "Train-the-Trainer" model to create a sustainable ecosystem of support. To do this, we have build a multi-tiered approach.Â
To train peer mentors in the sensitivities required to address gender-based hurdles, we have developed a 6-chapter GirlGuides Training handbook for mentors that focuses on reflection exercises on specific situational issues. Additionally, the GirlTalks Workshops provide hands-on training sessions with local mentors, using role-playing and simulations to troubleshoot real-world mentoring difficulties and establish connections with mentees. To also facilitate a cross-cultural exchange between students at Charterhouse (UK) and peer mentors in India, The GAMe (Global Academic Mentor) Network was established. This network is all about teaching English and improving communication skills. It gives local mentors the worldwide experience they need to be leaders. Finally, we will have Impact Monitoring with GirlGoals, a custom progress tracker to keep track of recurring themes and personal accomplishments. This makes sure that every mentorship journey is based on data and has clear goals.
